I was deeply saddened to hear of Jason's passing. Even after he came into his own as a pro trainer and handler he was as approachable as ever. I will miss his humor, ever present willingness to help out, and light touch with his dogs. You and the rest of Jason's extended family are in my thoughts and heart.

Linda
To Jason's family, I offer you my condolence's on your loss. I knew Jason for four years while at Cheney Tech. We were in Culinary together, and completed our final project together. Bev,

Jason's hard work, enthusiasm, fun loving and gentle spirit, and love of the dogs was always a refreshing reminder of how this sport should be and why I got into it. It always made me feel good to be around him. These wonderful traits didn't happen by accident, they are the result of the guidance, love and understanding you gave him. He will be greatly missed. You are in my heart, my thoughts and my prayers.

Condolence from:   Tom Schneider
To describe Jason, many cliche terms come to mind, he was compassionate and passionate about his chosen vocation, a gentle giant, a competitor and yet always a person able to enjoy other competitors accomplishments, I guess the term refers to being a true Gentleman in every aspect. I pray his family and all of his friends will continue to honor his memory and reflect on his life as we move forward in ours.
My deepest sympathies over your loss. Jason will always be remembered by his many friends.
Condolence from:   Sharon Deputy <sdeputy@aol.com>

Condolence from:   Lenore Severni
Jason was a great person and a pleasure watching him develop from a young 15 year old boy at the field trials with Mixie to a professional training my dog and many others.
Bev, our thoughts and love to you. You raised a delightful, caring and thoughtful son.
Jason, you touched our hearts and our spirits with your love of our sport. Your enthusiasm and desire was infectious. Your contribution to the sport was enormous. We will miss you greatly!
Bev: We have been thinking of you much of the day since hearing this sad news early this morning.

We met Jason and yourself many years ago when Jason was a young teenager at a Canadian field trial. Bonnie and Jason struck up a conversation about his interest in foreign coins and when we arrived home Bonnie collected many of her foreign coins and mailed them off to Jason for his collection. Jason soon phoned Bonnie to express his thanks and never missed an opportunity to thank us again whenever we met including September 2008 at your home.

Jason was a fine young man, always courteous which has to be attributed to the way he was raised by you. We know that you have many memories to turn to for comfort and friends for support and we hope this will help to ease your sadness at this difficult time.

Fondly,

Frank & Bonnie O'Grady

Bev, we have crossed paths with you and Jason for fifteen years now and each meeting has been a joyful experience cemented through that "spaniel love" we share. Less than two weeks ago we all had the pleasure of hearing Jason's laughter and being in his presence. Unforgettable.
You and your family have our prayers and love.
Condolence from:   Jerome Jussaume
Bev,

Elaine and I extend our thoughts and prayers to you at this difficult time. We can only imagine your sorrow.

I first learned of Jason about ten years ago in an article, which I think he wrote, in "Spaniels in the Field." As I read about his accomplishments, I was awed. How could someone so young gain such success in an area where so many struggled? Obviously, he had a gift. I'll always remember him as a gentle giant with a welcoming smile and and a wit to trade verbal barbs with his friends.

He will be missed.

Jerry
Condolence from:   Barbara Boettcher
Bev I can't tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Jason was a wonderful fun loving young man. I remember him fondly as a youngster at the Parent Club meetings and then later seeing him periodically at Nationals. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Barb

SharedStories

I met Jason only once. I ran a dog under him in a trial last spring. He laughed at my numerous attempts to screw up a perfectly good run. He gave the dog the benefit of the doubt. Then we both laughed the entire run. The guns missed 4 birds on that beat. We finally made it to the end of the course and Jason followed the dog as he trailed a runner from a previous plant. I tried to act like I knew what I was doing as I followed Jason off the course. A perfect flush and the gun missed again. We laughed again and Jason said “Don’t worry; we’ll get a retrieve in the next series.” Jason was a wonderful person. We should take a lesson from him and lighten up a little, enjoy the sport, and laugh a lot more.
Bev, my deepest sympathy over the loss of your son. While young in passing Jason lived life to the fullest every day he was here.
I first met Jason when he showed up at the prestigous Parent Club trial with a little white-faced female named Sadie. He handled her to a win with expertise well beyond his years. He went on to notch High Point honors that year, and I believe Sadie appears in the pedigree of many prominient dogs running today.
Over the years Jason continued to impress me and became a friend. He was kind, well natured, and a gentleman. I know he made you very proud. It was good to know him. If I am good, I will see again in heaven!
Be well,
Sincerely
Bill Cosgrove
Condolence from:   Tim & Billie Edwards
Bev, our hearts go out to you in this time of sorrow! Jason left his mark in our community and will be remembered.

I can recall bird planting some trials with Jason over the years, and talking and having a good time with each others company, but this one trial sticks out in my mind where Jason and I where at the end of the course waiting for the dogs on the beat to finish so we could get started on the next course. One of us knott heads was sitting on the radio leaving it keyed, and when we looked up at you and you were waving your arms at us to shut us up, and we both said oops!
Thank you for the many memories!
Tim & Billie Edwards
