Obituary for Janet Foxe

Janet Foxe
Janet G. Foxe, 80, of Vernon, CT, loving wife of 56 years to the late Charles M. Foxe, entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Janet was a longtime member of the Somersville Congregational Church. She was an avid quilter and baker, and was known for always sending visitors and friends off with hand-stitched or home-baked gifts. Janet played Bingo with her daughter and granddaughter regularly, was a steadfast Red Sox fan, and was a member of the Vernon Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cards. Janet will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who offered her love for others, both family and friends, in her own way. Janet is survived by her seven children; Cindy Underhill and her husband, Dale of Vernon; Carol Bigelow and her husband, Tommy of Monson, MA; Lou-Ann Murray and her husband, Don of Albuquerque, NM; Michael Foxe and his wife, Sherry of Enfield; William Foxe of South Windsor; Glenn Foxe of Somers and Harold Foxe and his wife, Lee of Ellington. She also leaves behind two sisters, Jean Lepore of Manchester and Jacqueline Olsen of Southington; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her mother and step-father, Julian and Lillian Percoski and her brother, Lester Norrie, Jr. There are no calling hours for Janet. A funeral service celebrating Janet's life will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018, at 2 pm at the Somersville Congregational Church, 22 Maple St., Somersville. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. To celebrate Janet's dedication to helping youth in need of foster care, in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Janet are requested to be made through to support the needs of youth in therapeutic care. Alternatively, a donation box will be present following the church service, and contributions may also be mailed to Janet's granddaughter, Amy Rickett C/O Albert J. Solnit Center-North, 36 Gardner St., East Windsor, CT 06088. Please make contributions payable to Amy Rickett as custodian of this fund.
